Speaking of cooler weather…as the cooler temps start to sink their heels in, I begin to re-evaluate my wardrobe (time to move summer out and fall/winter in), my beauty routine (my skin starts to see drier air) and my hair care routine (time to fix the summer damage!). I can remember the first time I tried Neutrogena’s Anti-Residue Shampoo. It was 2 years ago at the end of the summer. I spent an entire 6 months living on a lake and the humidity experience from that caused so many bad hair days for me. Y’all it was unreal.
Around the front of my scalp, I get a lot of buildup. I use dry shampoo just about every other day (definitely during the week). I try and give my hair a break from too much washing by washing every other day. I wish I could go longer but the rate my hair produces oil is crazy. Dry shampoo only extends my non-washing by 1 day.
Back to the build up. It’s truly nuts the buildup I produce between the natural oily state of my hair and the dry shampoo. My Anti-Residue moment is for sure dry shampoo and natural oil buildup. Cue Neutrogena. I use this shampoo once a week to help curb the oil buildup, to help detox my hair and bring it back to life when I use my regular shampoo/conditioner (after using the Anti-Residue Shampoo). I think I purchase a new bottle of Neutrogena at the beginning of a new season and use it once a week until it’s empty. Although, I’m sure you could continue to use it (buy yourself another bottle!) once week from here on out if you wanted. It’s even safe for me to use on my color-treated hair (when my hair is actually color-treated). Y’all, my hair comes back to life. It feels less limp, especially on non-wash days when I feel like my hair is at it’s limpest.
Exciting news, PHPT readers! Neutrogena is giving one of my readers a bottle of their Anti-Residue Shampoo. It’s easy to enter the contest.
